Florence Mary Carol Schultz (née Kirlin), in her 97th year, in Lachute on August 31th, 2026. Daughter of the late George and Florence Mary (nee Foster). She was predeceased by her husband John, her sister Lois, her daughter Cynthia and granddaughter Vanessa.
She is survived by her children, John (Joslyn), Craig (Carol) and Jennifer (Tony). She also leaves to mourn grandchildren Carolyn, Sarah (Elliot), Eric, Matika (Bernardo), Madeleine and Tristan as well as great-grandchildren Rose, Lillian and Mateo. Also very special in her life, she will be greatly missed by Stephen (Cindy, children Erin and Patrick), Pamela (children, Kelsie, Gregory and Kyle), and Peter (Cecile).
Carol grew up in Montreal, and there she met John, the love of her life. They married in 1953, then started the family business in 1954.
Their four children were born from 1955 to 1962. The family settled in Montreal West, then built their country home at Lac Louisa in 1964.
Carol had a somewhat sheltered childhood, but her natural spirit and vibrant personality prepared her for the busy and dynamic life she shared with her beloved husband and children. Every hour of every day was devoted to caring for the children, running the households, taking care of her mother and aunt and helping John run the business.
Sports were a huge part of family life and Carol happily learned to enjoy snow skiing, skating, water skiing, swimming and, later, tennis and golf. Carol’s love for her family shone in many ways. She never forgot a birthday, she knit countless beautiful sweaters for her grandchildren, and she was known for the wonderfully inspired poems she wrote to commemorate special occasions.
Carol and John are, at last, reunited in heaven and they will be sorely missed by all who knew them, including the many whose friendships at Lake Louisa and Florida greatly enhanced their lives.
The family would like to extend sincerest thanks to the caregivers and all staff at both Argenteuil and St-Mary’s Hospitals for all their outstanding efforts in caring for our mother. A private Funeral will take place in December and a Memorial / Celebration of life is planned for both Carol and John next year. Donations to St-Mary’s Hospital or Epilepsy Canada.
